3 Easy Shortcuts

What are three (3) easy things you can do to make your home or business accounting go a little easier?

QuickBooks accounting software can make keeping track of your finances a breeze. And the three simple QuickBooks tips below will help even further:

1. Use computer checks.
Toss the manual checkbook (or only use it for emergencies.)

2. Ensure general preference "Automatically recall last transaction for this name" is checked.

3. Reduce use of pick lists by fully using the fuzzy search ability of QuickBooks.
For example: when entering a bill for professional fees, begin typing "professional fees" until QuickBooks finds the account rather than clicking on the down arrow to the right of the account column and scrolling down to the account you want. You will find your data entry can be reduced to a few key strokes.

January 15

December payroll tax deposits are due

4th Quarter personal and corporate estimated tax payments are due.

January 31

4th Quarter payroll and sales tax returns are due

W2s need to be sent to employees

1099s need to be sent to recipients
